Piggly Wiggly is a grocery store that is hiring clerks in the following departments (bakery, dairy, deli, grocery, meat, and produce) and cashiers.  These are all important roles in the operation of the grocery store and will perform many duties. 

Bakery Clerk will have contact with customers of the store. The Bakery Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the customer including helping customers locate desired purchases and offering suggestions as to which Bakery products to purchase.

The Dairy Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the /6 1customer to include helping customers locate desired purchases. Position Details Cashier will operate a cash register to give the customer an accurate and efficient check out service.

The Cashier will frequently be the last contact the customer will have with the store on that visit. It is important that a Cashier perform the job in a friendly and curious manner. Always devote all of your attention to the customer at your register. Never carry on a conversation with others while there is a customer at your register.

Deli Clerk will perform many duties preparing deli product to include salads, sandwiches, and prepared dinners for sale in the store. During the time spent in the department, the Deli Clerk will experience contact with customers of the store. 

Grocery Clerk will perform many duties on the sales floor of the store. During the time spent on the sales floor the grocery clerk will experience frequent contact with customers of the store.

The Meat Department Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the customer including helping customers locate desired purchases.

Produce Clerk will perform many duties on the sales floor of the store. During the time spent on the sales floor, the Produce Clerk will experience frequent contact with customers of the store.

REQUIREMENTS

• Speak, read, and understand the English language in order to follow instruction from supervisors and to assist customers with requests

• Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Clerk positions, Cashier position in a satisfactory manner 
• The Clerk and Cashier positions requires that the staff member be able to work while standing for extended periods of time

Participants working as a Busser & Food Prep could work one of two shifts: 6:15am-3pm or 11am -7pm. You could be schedlued for both shifts in one week.  Daily duties will include cleaning and resetting tables in the front of the house, washing dishes, and afternoon ood preparation in the kitchen. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals and will be handling pork products allergies to cleaning chemicals or are not willing to work with pork products you should not apply for this position. . If you have This is an excellent position for participants who would like time to practice their English before moving into a job with consistent direct communication with customers. If you are scheduled for the first shift,you must have ability to arrive to work on time at 6:15AM and work quickly and diligently for 7 hours. This position receives tips, usually about $5-$20 per day.   

There is a possibility of a pay increase as skills increase.

Floor Attendant: This is a fast-paced job that requires the ability to work quickly and interact with the public during the entire shift. An outgoing and friendly personality is required. Floor Attendants must be comfortable working with American money and have good math skills.  They must wear a money apron and make change for the customers as needed. They must fill the slot and poker machines with tickets and tokens. They must fix very minor problems with the machines such as quarter jams and token/ticket jams. The employees are also required to keep the area and machines clean.

 Counter Attendant: Count customer winnings from the arcade games and video pokers and issue vouchers or post to their account. Provide merchandise to customers who are purchasing items. Gateway has a big storage facility where the employees must locate and retrieve the desired merchandise. Participants will be in constant contact with customers and that is why excellent knowledge of English is a necessity. You must be able to work under stress and still maintain good spirits. A friendly and outgoing personality is required.

Will need to have advanced English skills and be comfortable speaking with customers in English. Must have strong customer service skills. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

HOUSING

 Gateway 26 Employee Housing:

Rent is $195 per week. Participants who work the dates agreed to in the interview, and on their DS 2019 form, will be eligible for a refund of their housing equaling $50 for each week they worked/lived in housing. This will make the actual amount of rent paid for housing $145 per week ( after housing refund).

The first week's rent is due at the time of move in. A Housing Deposit in the amount of $195 is also due at the time of move in. The housing deposit will be returned to you, at the end of your program, provided you work the dates agreed to in your job offer and do not cause damage to the housing.

Participants who leave their jobs early, move out of housing early, or are terminated from their job at Gateway 26 Arcade will not be eligible for a refund of the housing deposit or for the $50 housing refund for each week they worked/lived in housing.

Participants working at Gateway 26 Casino Arcade are expected to live in the housing provided. Participants who choose not to move into employee housing, or who move out of housing early, may be required to resign from their position at Gateway 26 Casino Arcade

HOUSING

Housing is provided by the Host Company in a 4 bedroom home located across the street from the Host Company. 

The home is fully furnished with a full kitchen, air conditioning, washer and dryer, and wifi. Bedding and towels are provided.

Housing is co-ed, with both men and woman living in the home. Women have their own bedrooms and bathroom, and men have their own bedrooms and bathroom in another part of the home. Men and women cannot share bedrooms.

While housing is just across the street from the work location it is also just 3 blocks from the beach, 2 blocks from the bus station, and 2 blocks from the grocery store.

Bikes are avaliable for participants who prefer not to walk. The home will be shared with up to 12 participants ( 3-4 people per bedroom) and is across the street from the Host Company.

The main responsibilities of the dishwasher are to collect dirty dishes from the dining room, wash all dishes, and return them to their proper place once they have been cleaned. At other times, based on business needs, a participant may be asked to assist in bussing tables in the dining room, wash windows, sweep floors and sidewalks, mop floors, general kitchen prep work, and any other job that will aid the restaurant.

Ability to read and understand recipes quickly is required. Knife use skills and understanding of U.S. Unit Measurements needed. Previous Restaurant kitchen/cooking experience preferred but not required.

Rent is $100 per person/per week. There is a $150 housing deposit that will be returned to you at the end of you program, as long as you do not leave your job early, are not terminated from your job, leave the house and room exactly the way it was when you arrived and do not move out of housing before the date agreed to on your job offer. Participants who quit their job, are terminated from the job, who do not leave the house in clean and appropriate order or who move out of housing early will not be eligible for a refund of the housing deposit.
