In this combined position, you will have the opportunity to gain some great experience since you will work as: kitchen prep, food expeditor, food runner and dishwasher. You will be working in the following capacity:

• Kitchen Prep: will assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Food expeditor : acts as a liaison between the kitchen staff and the waitstaff, which ensures a steady workflow throughout the various departments of a restaurant. As an expeditor you will also finalize the presentation of each plate.
• Food Runner: responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders, and removing used dishes and utensils. If you’d like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.
• Dishwasher: responsible for cleaning dishes in a foodservice environment to ensure that there is always plenty of clean tableware at hand. When washing, they prioritize different types and sizes of crockery and kitchen utensils. They are in charge of loading the dishwasher and placing dishes on drying racks to be put away properly when done using.

REQUIREMENTS

You will be expected to arrive at work on time, every day, and dressed in the proper uniform. You will be expected to make sure you perform your job responsibilities as taught in training and according to company standards.

Host company will supply the company t shirt and please bring comfortable pants or shorts and slip proof shoes.

HOUSING

Housing provided by the employer -  The Village Pump Employee Housing, the cost will be $50/per week.

As a Housekeeper at Bay Shore Resort, you will be an important part of our guest experience, helping to maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all visitors. You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms and public areas in a clean and orderly condition. Guest rooms may include bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchenettes, living areas, fireplaces, and balconies or porches. Bay Shore Resort maintains high standards for cleanliness and guest service.

As a Hospitality Crew Member at Bay Shore Resort, you’ll be part of an exciting cultural exchange through the J-1 Work and Travel Program. In this seasonal role, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the U.S. hospitality industry while helping create memorable guest experiences. Hospitality Crewmembers are responsible for laundry and housekeeping, kitchen and dining help, guest services, front desk, and groundskeeping/maintenance. Your employer may ask you to perform other duties related to your job type. 

You will receive on-the-job training to help you learn your responsibilities and understand our company standards. While you are expected to work independently once trained, managers and supervisors are available to provide guidance and support throughout your program.

JOB DETAILS

Housekeepers/Hotel Assistants are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of  the Hotel guest rooms. This includes making beds, cleaning the floors, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms, emptying trash cans. While this may be the primary work you will do, as a Hotel Assistant you will also be trained to work in the following positions:

Front Desk Support - Checking guests in and out of the hotel, answering questions, answering the phone and other related duties.

Front Desk Assistant - Assisting the Front Desk Team.

Breakfast Attendant - Setting up, stocking, tearing down the continental breakfast set up for the guests each day.

You will have the opportunity to learn all of the positions in the hotel and your assigned tasks may rotate daily or weekly depending on the business needs of the hotel.

We are looking for energetic, outgoing, bubbly, and friendly people who enjoy working with the public. Must have a “Can Do & Willingness” attitude. Duties include but not limited to:

• Waiting on customers, selling popcorn & candy in a fast-paced environment 
• Clean store before shift ends 
• Handling sales in accurate manner which will include entering sales in a cash register, taking money, counting out correct change (coins/bills), giving change (coins/bills), to guests, and completing credit card transactions 
• Wrapping items and/or placing items in a bag for guests 
• Greeting all guests as they enter the store in a timely manner 
• Assisting or advising guests on their purchases 
• Suggesting other merchandise items to go with the guest’s original selection (up-sell) 
• Advising guest on amenities outside of our retail location Stocking and inventory of merchandise items 
• Maintaining and cleaning all retail areas including stock room, display areas, floors, and cash register/check-out area 
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service. 
• Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints of guests

JOB DETAILS

The Track Attendent is responsible for assisting and directing customers during track and/or ride operations. Attendants must be familiar with all safety regulations and information and be able to communicate this information to guests.

• Assist guests on and off rides Provide safety and ride instructions. 
• Collect tickets 
• Monitor ride and guest safety 
• Answer guest questions Respond quickly to unusual situations during normal operation, including power failure and/or operating system faults or shutdowns, and smoke alarms. 
• Handle minor complaints and suggestions from our guests in a calm and professional manner or seek additional assistance from supervisor if necessary. 
• Any other duties as assigned by manager.

REQUIREMENTS

The Attendant must be able to speak English confidently and clearly in order to give instructions to guests. Attendants must be outgoing and friendly and have excellent customer service skills. Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions, including direct sunlight.

JOB DETAILS

Participants  working at The Maple Cottage will work in one of the busiest shops on the Island!  As a sales or retail associate, participants will be re-stocking shelves, working the cash register at check out, assisting customers with merchandise, as well as helping with questions or problems.  

They will also be straightening the store and cleaning the store during quiet hours, or before or after the store is open.  Additional duties include setting up displays, arranging merchandise, and stamping or tagging pricing on merchandise.  Sales clerks may also need to keep a record of sales, prepare inventory of stock, or order merchandise.

There is a possibility of a pay increase in pay once training has been completed and based on performance. Those employees with great attendance and strong work ethic will have the opportunity for a pay increase.

REQUIREMENTS

Participants must have a working knowledge of U.S. currency, must be friendly and courteous to customers, and have excellent customer service, math, and English skills. 

The work is highly customer oriented. Participants must  also be willing to do various cleaning jobs and must be willing to work on their feet all day. This is a great job for someone who likes to move around a lot, be busy,  and not sit in one place for their entire shift.

HOUSING

Housing provided by the employer, $75/per week.

There is no Housing Deposit required.

JOB DETAILS

• Be responsible for the overall cleanliness of our guest rooms. 
• Be detail-oriented by reporting maintenance deficiencies on daily basis as needed to maintain the room in compliance with standards. 
• Duties include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, special projects and washing windows to make sure guest rooms and bathrooms meet hotel standards. 
• Restock all guest room supplies, like soap and shampoo Organize your linen closet, restock your cart, and get ready for the next day, before your shift ends each day. 
• Respond to special requests made by guests.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to communicate with guest requests and respond accordingly in a helpful, friendly- efficient manner. 
• Must be flexible to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays 
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Participants must provide their own tan/brown trousers and closed toed shoes.

JOB DETAILS

Room Attendants assist in the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms and public spaces. This includes making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, folding linens, removing dirty linens and towels from rooms, removing garbage, and assisting with the laundry.

This is a physical demanding job that requires someone who is motivated and willing to work hard. This position is not recommended for those who have allergies to cleaning chemicals.

The Laundry Attendant will be in charge of cleaning all linens and towels for the guest rooms. You will have to wash, dry and fold these items in a timely manor. You should be able to work independently and follow directions form your manager. You may also be asked to perform other tasks around the resort such as light maintenance work, assisting the kitchen or dining room, and light landscaping work.

Training for all these duties will be provided. During your program you will work as both a Room Attendant and a Laundry Attendant. You must also have the ability to work in other areas of the hotel as requested by the employer.

REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced English skills required. 
• Ability to clean guest rooms to Delaware North standards and to work with cleaning chemicals 
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time 
• Ability to provide outstanding guest service

HOUSING

Housing provided by the employer, $150/per week.

JOB DETAILS

Servers are responsible for greeting guests once they have been seated at their table, discussing menu items, taking  food orders and serving food, occasionally visit table for any additional help and ensuring they receive outstanding guest service during their visit.

Servers are also expected to help clean the table and set it up for the next guest. This is a great job for someone who likes to talk with people, enjoys working in a fast paced environment and has an outgoing and friendly personality.

Must be able to work under pressure, stand on your feet for long periods of time and be able to work quickly and efficiently. 

Training Period wage is $9.00 p/hr. Training period usually lasts 1-2 scheduled shifts. Summer Bonus Available at the end of the season pending work performance, attendance and other qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be trustworthy, friendly, and have a positive attitude! Employees have direct contact with the public and must have good people skills and be able to communicate in a fast-paced work environment. Teamwork and professionalism are important.
