Piggly Wiggly is a grocery store that is hiring clerks in the following departments (bakery, dairy, deli, grocery, meat, and produce) and cashiers.  These are all important roles in the operation of the grocery store and will perform many duties. 

Bakery Clerk will have contact with customers of the store. The Bakery Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the customer including helping customers locate desired purchases and offering suggestions as to which Bakery products to purchase.

The Dairy Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the /6 1customer to include helping customers locate desired purchases. Position Details Cashier will operate a cash register to give the customer an accurate and efficient check out service.

The Cashier will frequently be the last contact the customer will have with the store on that visit. It is important that a Cashier perform the job in a friendly and curious manner. Always devote all of your attention to the customer at your register. Never carry on a conversation with others while there is a customer at your register.

Deli Clerk will perform many duties preparing deli product to include salads, sandwiches, and prepared dinners for sale in the store. During the time spent in the department, the Deli Clerk will experience contact with customers of the store. 

Grocery Clerk will perform many duties on the sales floor of the store. During the time spent on the sales floor the grocery clerk will experience frequent contact with customers of the store.

The Meat Department Clerk should greet customers and should be willing to offer excellent customer service for the customer including helping customers locate desired purchases.

Produce Clerk will perform many duties on the sales floor of the store. During the time spent on the sales floor, the Produce Clerk will experience frequent contact with customers of the store.

REQUIREMENTS

• Speak, read, and understand the English language in order to follow instruction from supervisors and to assist customers with requests 
• Participate in training programs 
• Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Clerk positions, Cashier position in a satisfactory manner 
• The Clerk and Cashier positions requires that the staff member be able to work while standing for extended periods of time 
• Must be able to occasionally lift 30-50 lbs. 
• The work environment includes some work in a refrigerated cooler area 
• The work environment includes occasional exposure to refrigerated or frozen food storage areas
• Participants must provide their own denim jeans and closed toe shoes.

HOUSING

Housing provided by the employer, $50/per week.

This is a great opportunity for participants interested in a fun restaurant and wanting to spend their summer in an Island Resort atmosphere.

The Burrito Crew members will be working at Big Man's Burrito Stand making burritos and serving customers. Big Man's Burrito Stand is located on an outside patio but at the same address as Frosty's Bar. This job requires frequent and immediate communication with the customers, so a participant's English level should be very high. The job duties include making burritos based on a customer's order and food preparation work including making salsa and burrito ingredients. Participants are also responsible for keeping the work and food preparation stations clean and may be using cleaning chemicals. Participants will be handling pork products. Participants who are not willing to work with pork products should not apply for this position.

There is a possibility of a pay increase as skills increase. 

REQUIREMENTS

Participants need to have advance English Skills.

They must have a good attitude and be a team player.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time; Must be able to work outdoors; Must be able to work with cleaning and sanitation products; Performing duties which require bending, reaching, and/or lifting; Lifting & transporting up to 25/30/50/100 pounds.

As a cook, students will have to prepare food, perform cleaning and cooking duties and various other job duties.

Servers will have the respnosibility of greeting and talking to guests, serve food and beverages, process payments, perform cleaning duties as assigned and various other job duties according to the upstanding tasks.

Participants must speak advanced English. Participants should be physically fit able to stand on their feet all day attention to detail and hard-working. Must have outgoing personality. Able to understand and take direction from supervisor.

Housing is provided at $150 per week.

REQUIREMENTS

The Track Attendant is responsible for assisting and directing customers during track and/or ride operations. Attendants must be familiar with all safety regulations and information and be able to communicate this information to guests. The Attendant must be able to speak English confidently and clearly in order to give instructions to guests. Attendants must be outgoing and friendly and have excellent customer service skills.

HOUSING

Total rent for the SEASON is $2500 (regardless of how many weeks you work). The $300 Housing Deposit will be refunded at the end of the program if you work the dates agreed to in the job offer and no damage is caused to the property.

Beach Attendants are primarily responsible for setting up beach chairs and umbrellas for guests in the morings, during the day and pickup. You will assist with other guest beach needs. General beach maintenance and cleaning is involved.

Both positions are busy, fast paced, you must be able to multitask, be friendly, outgoing, and have a drive to please all guests.

JOB DETAILS

Floor Attendant: This is a fast-paced job that requires the ability to work quickly and interact with the public during the entire shift. An outgoing and friendly personality is required. Floor Attendants must be comfortable working with American money and have good math skills.  They must wear a money apron and make change for the customers as needed. They must fill the slot and poker machines with tickets and tokens. They must fix very minor problems with the machines such as quarter jams and token/ticket jams. The employees are also required to keep the area and machines clean.

 Counter Attendant: Count customer winnings from the arcade games and video pokers and issue vouchers or post to their account. Provide merchandise to customers who are purchasing items. Gateway has a big storage facility where the employees must locate and retrieve the desired merchandise. Participants will be in constant contact with customers and that is why excellent knowledge of English is a necessity. You must be able to work under stress and still maintain good spirits. A friendly and outgoing personality is required.

REQUIREMENTS

Will need to have advanced English skills and be comfortable speaking with customers in English. Must have strong customer service skills. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

HOUSING

 Gateway 26 Employee Housing:

Rent is $195 per week. Participants who work the dates agreed to in the interview, and on their DS 2019 form, will be eligible for a refund of their housing equaling $50 for each week they worked/lived in housing. This will make the actual amount of rent paid for housing $145 per week ( after housing refund).

The first week's rent is due at the time of move in. A Housing Deposit in the amount of $195 is also due at the time of move in. The housing deposit will be returned to you, at the end of your program, provided you work the dates agreed to in your job offer and do not cause damage to the housing.

Participants who leave their jobs early, move out of housing early, or are terminated from their job at Gateway 26 Arcade will not be eligible for a refund of the housing deposit or for the $50 housing refund for each week they worked/lived in housing.

Participants working at Gateway 26 Casino Arcade are expected to live in the housing provided. Participants who choose not to move into employee housing, or who move out of housing early, may be required to resign from their position at Gateway 26 Casino Arcade
